Our Pathology Team
Jacob Schreiber, M.D.
Laboratory Director
Dr. Schreiber completed his medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin. His residency training for Anatomic and Clinical Pathology was at SUNY Stony Brook, where he was chief Resident. He completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at NY-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University for Surgical Pathology and GI Pathology.
Dr. Schreiber has worked in both academic hospital practice as well as commercial laboratories, and has been part of the CDX team since 2014. He is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.
Bhuvaneswari Dorai, M.D.
Assistant Laboratory Director
Dr. B. Dorai is board-certified pathology in Anatomic, Clinical and Cytopathology. She has been a pathologist with CDx Diagnostics for 8 years.
Bhuvaneswari graduated from Madras medical college, Chennai, India. She completed her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology in New York Medical College affiliated hospitals, which includes Metropolitan hospital and Lincoln Hospital Medical and Mental Health Center in New York. Her Cytopathology fellowship was done in Westchester County Medical Center, New York.
Prior to residency training, Dr. Dorai worked as a research associate in a molecular biology laboratory at Rockefeller University, New York and in a protein chemistry laboratory in Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York. Her work experience includes Lincoln Medical and Mental health center, Bronx, NY, Saint Michael’s Medical Center, Newark, New Jersey and Montefiore-Nyack Hospital, New York. In addition to routine anatomic and clinical case responsibilities, she was also involved in Quality Assurance and Quality control programs, CAP inspections, Cancer Committee, Tissue Committee and Credentialing Committee.
Julián Arce, M.D.
Pathologist
Dr. Arce graduated magna cum laude from University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He completed his pathology residency and received his cytopathology training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM)/Montefiore Medical Center (MMC) in Bronx, NY.
Dr. Arce has worked for major academic centers (Mount Sinai Hospital, New York City) and large volume reference laboratories (BioReference, Elmwood Park, NJ). He is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and cytopathology and has been a part of the CDx team for 3 years.
Jianxiong Bao, M.D, Ph.D
Pathology
Dr. J. Bao received his medical degree from Shanghai Medical University, with a Ph.D. from Tulane University School of Medicine. He had a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology from University of Kansas Medical Center with a Cytopathology residency at St. Louis University School of Medicine.
He was an assistant professor of pathology at LSUHSC Shreveport. 15 years of general surgical pathology experience and served as pathology consultant and medical director for physician owned laboratories with no medical liability claims.
Dr. Bao was Associate Medical director at Bostwick Laboratories, Medical Director and Pathologist at Thernostix Inc/P4 Diagnostix. Medical Director for Gastroenterology Associates Inc. and Pathologist at Metamark Genetics, Inc/P4 Diagnostix.
He has been widely published in the field and presenter/lecturer for several graduate and medical school courses and trained pathology residents and cytopathology fellows.
Dr Bao's professional affiliations include the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology and College of American Pathologists.
Donghong Cai, M.D., Ph.D.
Pathologist
Dr. Cai is a board-certified anatomic and clinical pathologist with specialty boards in hematopathology.
He earned his medical degree in China, completed his pathology residency at SUNY Downstate at Brooklyn of New York, and then received his fellowship training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM)/Montefiore Medical Center (MMC) in Bronx, NY. and his PhD in BioMedical Sciences from Creighton University, Nebraska.
Dr. Cai has been employed at CDx Laboratories for the past 3 years; and his work experience includes major academic centers (University of Buffalo Medical Center) and large volume reference laboratories (Cancer Genetics Inc.).
Charvi Cassano M.D., Ph.D.
Pathologist
Dr. Charvi Cassano is a board-certified pathologist and cytopathologist. She has been practicing at CDx Diagnostics for 5 years and has experience as a QA consultant pathologist for the Veteran’s Administration, and a Laboratory Director at various clinical labs.
Prior to her medical school education, Dr. Cassano received a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology followed by postdoctoral fellowship in Infectious diseases at Thomas Jefferson University, Pennsylvania. Following medical school, Dr. Cassano completed a preliminary year of residency training in both surgery and anesthesiology before her formal training as a pathologist at UMDNJ followed by a fellowship in cytopathology at Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine in New York.
Dr. Cassano has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and has received several National Research Service Awards for her work in studying the migration of HIV through the blood brain barrier.
Frank Fromowitz, M.D.
Pathologist
Dr. Frank Fromowitz is a board-certified pathologist with over 35 years of experience as an anatomic pathologist in academic, community hospital, and private laboratory settings, including work in the pathology of the gastrointestinal tract.
He trained in Anatomic Pathology at Yale University School of Medicine, held full-time academic appointments at the state universities of New York and New Jersey, and published over 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine and Cancer.
Dr. Fromowitz has worked with such noted pathologists as Drs. Charles Carrington, Leo Koss, and Lauren Ackerman, has taught medical students and residents at several institutions and was nominated for the Golden Apple Teaching Award at the New Jersey Medical School.
Karen Hoffman, M.D.
Director of Research
Dr. Hoffman is the Director of Research at CDx Diagnostics responsible for developing and supervising clinical studies. She has been at CDx for 3 years.
She earned her B.A. in Comparative Literature from Brown University and her Medical Degree from George Washington University. She was the Chief Resident in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and a Fellow in Gynecologic Pathology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
She became the Assistant Laboratory Director for Dianon Systems/Kyto Meridien in New City, NY, then became the Assistant Laboratory Director at Sciode Medical Associates, and, most-recently, as well as the Director of Clinical Trials at Eastchester Center for Cancer Care in the Bronx, NY.
Seshamma Reddy, M.D., Ph.D.
Pathologist
Dr. Reddy is a board-certified anatomic pathologist with post graduate training in molecular genetics and a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry. She is a full-time Pathologist at CDx Laboratories for the past 10 years.
Dr. Reddy has over 22 years of experience in the medical field. She graduated from American University of the Caribbean medical school and completed a residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.
She has been published in 50 peer-reviewed articles and 5 chapters in manuals and received the CAP Foundation Conference Travel Award.
Dr. Reddy’s Professional Memberships include: College of American Pathologists, Group for Research in Pathology Education, American Society for Clinical Pathology, Association for Molecular Pathology, Association for Pathology Informatics and United States & Canadian Academy of Pathology.
Rakhee Saxena, M.D.
Pathologist
Dr. Saxena completed her medical school training at Govt. Medical College, Jabalpur, India. She completed her residency from SUNY Buffalo, NY, followed by two fellowships in Oncologic Pathology and Hematopathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
She is now board certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical pathology and Hematopathology and has worked at multiple community hospitals and private laboratories as well as government hospitals. hospitals. Dr. Saxena has worked at CDx Diagnostics for 8 years.
Laboratory Services
CDx Diagnostics provides cytology, histology, histocytology, and immunohistochemistry assessments in evaluating specimens for abnormalities in order to assist medical professionals in preventing the development of cancer.

Preparation of each submitted sample and pathologist’s microscopic interpretation. The fee for service will vary depending upon the number of specimens submitted, the size and complexity of the specimen and difficulty of diagnosis. IHC Immunohistochemistry stains may be ordered at the discretion of the pathologist. These services will be performed at an additional charge. Note: at times, pathologists may request additional reflexive testing, resulting in additional codes and billing. |
